· Set clear, realistic goals – focus on consistency, not perfection
· Start small – commit to a manageable schedule you can keep
· Put it on your calendar – treat training like important appointments
· Train for a purpose – fitness, stress relief, self-defense, and...personal growth!
· Notice small wins – take note of improvements in skills, focus, calmness, and overall health
· Lean on community – training partners keep you motivated, and help you with consistency and progress
· Be patient – give yourself time and allow for long term improvement
· Reconnect with why you started – remember what martial arts gives you
· Show up – follow through on commitments, mobilize when the time comes
In addition to whatever works best for you, we have some stuff that should motivate you. This includes our rededicating to providing the best facility, instruction, and training environment possible. We will also continue with some great Advanced Concepts clinics for senior students. We’ll also continue to host special events with notorious figures.
This starts with a seminar with Jiu-jitsu and MMA legend Demian Maia on February 28th. The three-hour seminar will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a pre-registration cost of $130. Kids may choose to participate in the first half of the clinic for $70. We will begin reserving spots for this one in January.
So, get motivated for some great training in 2026!
