STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Our Strength & Conditioning classes focus on building core and functional strength in a safe and constructive way. They can be used as "cross training" to enhance a martial arts program, or simply as a separate fitness routine. Improved strength and cardio-vascular fitness will maximizing the techniques, strategies and skills learned in the martial arts. This training also goes a long way towards the prevention of injuries, improved lean-mass, body-weight control, improved longevity, increased energy levels, better focus, and overall improved “quality of life.”
These classes use a variety of exercises with different types of equipment. This includes drills with free-weights, kettle-bells, medicine balls, "battle ropes", fitness-balls, and body-weight exercises. Participants are encouraged to scale their intensity according to their abilities, especially in the beginning. We believe that using reasonable weights with lots of repetition is the safest and most effective approach.
